Actor Kunle Remi Reacts To Claims Of Ruining ‘Anikulapo’ With ‘Unnecessary’ Nude Scenes

Nollywood actor, Kunle Remi, has responded to critics of the nude scenes in Kunle Afolayan’s movie, ‘Anikulapo’.
Naija News earlier reported that ‘Anikulapo’ is a fantastic piece of work with beautiful props and costumes and its scenery is extremely inviting and pleasing.

However, some netizens said the movie would have been perfect for moonlight tales and educational stories for children as the lessons centred on greed, unfortunately, the two lead characters, Bimbo Ademoye and Kunle Remi ruined it with what many termed ‘unnecessary nude’ scenes.

The movie had a scene where the youngest wife of the Alaafin, Arolake (Bimbo) raped Saro (Kunle), a travelling clothes weaver.

Also, the duo took off their clothes to have s3x, with Bimbo’s breasts and Kunle’s buttock showing clearing in the scene.

Although the movie is rated 18+, many Nigerians expressed displeasure over the nude scenes stating it was totally unnecessary for such beautiful work.

That Was The Most Vulnerable Moment
While addressing the controversy in an Instagram live session, Kunle Remi said the scene was necessary to the plot and their characters’ development.

According to him, the controversial scene was the vulnerable moment of the characters (Saro and Arolake) and it was the first time they genuinely made love.

In his words: “A lot of people say the nude scene was not necessary, but I’m gonna say this; as an engineer, I can’t tell you how to engineer, as an accountant I can’t tell you how to do your accounting. As a chef, I cant teach you how to cook so as an actor you can’t tell me how far or what I should do in my job.

“That scene for us symbolised the moment when we were so vulnerable. Anyways Nigerians are hypocrites. But that was the most vulnerable moment for these characters and that was the first time they genuinely made love”.
