Boko Haram attack: Army kills eight terrorists in Niger

At least eight suspected Boko Haram members had been allegedly killed during an assault on Army Barracks in New Bussa, Borgu Local Government of Niger State.

It was gathered the gunmen stormed the barracks in an effort to rescue some of their members held in captivity.

DAILY POST learnt the incident passed off on Saturday at about 12 midnight.

Eyewitness stated during the assault eight were killed, apprehended whilst some of the military guys sustained minor injuries.

“During the fight, the troopers gave the terrorists a correct fight. The Army called on the Air Force for assistance. They exchanged hearth with the well armed Boko Haram participants who came in their numbers to the barracks.

“Many of the Boko Haram members escaped with various levels of injuries.”

DAILY POST further learnt that safety has been beefed up round the barracks in order to counter any reprisal assault via the armed gunmen.
