EndSARS memorial: Youths in Port Harcourt march in honour of Lekki Tollgate victims

Youths in Port Harcourt on Thursday joined their counterparts across the country to stage a procession in honour of victims of the Lekki Tollgate shooting in Lagos on October 20, 2020.

There was heavy security deployment around the popular Pleasure Park in Aba where the protesters had gathered.

The march was led by civil society organisations in the state.

The leader of the Rivers State civil society organisation, Enefa Georgewill lamented the government’s inability to “prosecute” indicted police officers of the disbanded Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS.

Georgewill also demanded the “implementation of the recommendations of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry” set up by the state government over police brutality.

Other youths who participated in the procession said it was time for youths across the country to join in politics to end “bad governance”
