Flamingos head coach, Bankole Olowookere is thrilled to see his team end their campaign at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on a winning note.

The Nigerian girls claimed bronze medal in the competition after beating Germany 3-2 on penalties in the third-place match on Sunday.

It was the team’s best ever finish in the history of the competition.

The Flamingos led 3-0 at a point in the game but the Germans rallied back to take the game into penalty shootout.

“Victory made it a joyous Sunday for Nigeria,” Olowookere told the thenff.com.

“I am a very happy man that we did not leave India empty-handed. It has been a great tournament with a lot of lessons learnt. We give God the glory.”

Despite their loss to the Flamingos, Germany’s Under 17 girls exchanged kits with some Flamingos and together vibed to Kizz Daniel hit tune Cough after d 3rd place match in India.
