Gov Ortom hails Akume on his 69th birthday

Governor Samuel Ortom has congratulated the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-governmental, Senator George Akume on his 69th birthday.

The governor’s message, which he said on behalf of the people of Benue State, was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur.

The Governor said Senator Akume has made immense contributions to the development of Benue State and Nigeria at large.

He prayed for God’s sustained blessings upon the Honourable Minister and wishes him a joyful birthday celebration in good health, peace, and a prosperous new year.

Bolanle Raheem: Justice must be done – Buhari reacts to killing of Lawyer

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday night condemned the “heinous and senseless” killing of Omobolanle Raheem, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), shot by on-duty policemen on Christmas Day.

Buhari said he was deeply shocked and saddened to learn of the brutal killing of Raheem.

The President also directed the police authorities to take “the strongest possible action” against the culprits already detained.

This was disclosed in a statement by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, on Tuesday.
