Explosion razes Onitsha Market

One of the traders, Nweke Uchenna, said: “We were at our shops when we heard a loud noise like a bomb blast and we saw thick smoke from some shops upstairs and everyone started running for safety.

Shops and goods worth over N850M were reportedly destroyed in the fire which resulted from an explosion.

The incident which occured around 12:45pm on Tuesday reportedly led to stamped among the traders.

four persons were reportedly feared dead and 12 others were seriously injured in the chemical market in Onitsha Market head bridge, Anambra state.
