EPL: De Bruyne names Man City star that can emulate Ronaldo, Messi

Manchester City playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne has tipped Erling Haaland to hit similar goalscoring heights as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Haaland has netted 24 times in 19 games in what is becoming an extraordinary debut season in England.

City resume their bid to overtake Arsenal at the top of the Premier League with a trip to Leeds United on Wednesday.

De Bruyne believes Haaland could go down as one of the game’s all-time greats.

“He already has about 200 goals, so he can probably go to 600, 700 or 800 if he stays fit and does the things he does.

“Erling is a top-level striker,” De Bruyne said.

Though Ten Hag admires Fred’s tenacity and fitness levels, he has preferences for midfielders that are better at dominating games.

United are willing to let Fred go but the Sun reports that the club is seeking £30m for the Brazilian.

The Brazilian arrived at Manchester United for £52m in 2018 and has made 174 appearances for the Red Devils in four and half years.
