Golden Eaglets defender Yahaya Lawali has been included in the Best XI of the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
The tournament’s Best XI was revealed by the Technical Study Group (TSG) on Sunday.
Lawali excelled as a right-back in the competition and made the selection despite the Golden Eaglets’ elimination at the quarterfinal stage.
The 16-year-old was named Man of the Match in Nigeria’s opening two games against Zambia and Morocco.
Lawali has already been courted by top European clubs, including Barcelona.
Champion Senegal dominated the team of the tournament with four players.
Third-place finisher Burkina Faso has three players. Mali, who finished in fourth place, has two players, while runner-up Morocco has only one.
