EPL: You need to do more – Micah Richards slams Potter’s poor tactics

Former Manchester City defender Micah Richards has slammed Chelsea boss Graham Potter’s tactics after they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa in this weekend’s Premier League fixture.

Richards wondered why the former Brighton boss had January signing Benoit Badiashile on the bench for the whole duration.

It was another setback for the west London side as they fell at Stamford Bridge through Ollie Watkins and John McGinn strikes.

The latest defeat leaves Chelsea 11th in the Premier League, 11 points behind fourth-placed Tottenham.

Richards, baffled by Potter’s tactics against Aston Villa, said: “I think tactically Graham Potter has to do more, if I’m being totally honest.

“We saw Reece James playing in a back-three, Ruben Loftus-Cheek was playing at right wing-back.

“Benoit Badiashile was on the bench and they’ve got Romelu Lukaku at Inter Milan. The whole situation needs sorting ASAP.”
